Anti-wrinkle injections successfully restore a youthful and more aesthetically attractive face, effectively improving the signs of ageing. It is commonly used to treat wrinkles when you frown, the crow’s feet, and forehead. Commonly know as Botox, this anti-ageing product is a natural, purified protein that temporarily relaxes the facial muscles.
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are, as the name suggest, a way to prevent and reduce wrinkles – most commonly on your face. Botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox, are used to relax the muscles in the targeted areas, contrary to the belief that your face will be “frozen”. Put simply, they are an effective, affordable, safe (when performed by trained medical professionals) way to eliminate unwanted lines and wrinkles.
What are anti-wrinkle injections used for?
Botox anti-wrinkle injections can produce a more youthful, softer appearance that avoids the needs for major surgery such as facelifts. It can be used to effectively eliminate crows feet, worry lines, smile lines and various other areas. Botox can also be used to treat medical conditions such as hyperhydrosis, chronic migraines and muscle stiffness.

Botox should only ever be administered by a doctor and performed by trained medical professionals. Whilst very safe in the right hands, it can be dangerous if administered incorrectly.
- Long lasting results, usually only needing top up treatments every 3-4 months.
- You can eliminate fine lines and wrinkles around your mouth, eyes and forehead without the need for surgical intervention, which can be much more expensive and carry greater risks.
- You will start to see results after the first session. Some treatments can take a lot of time before results are visible, but with Botox you can expect to see peak results within 10 days of your first session. The results will then improve further over time as part of a proper treatment plan.
During the procedure, our doctors will administer tiny amounts of the botulinum toxin into your problem areas. This is done using a very thin needle, which many patients cannot feel or report no discomfort. The amount of injections will depend on how many areas you are having treated, how large they are and the severity of your lines and wrinkles.
The procedure will usually begin to take effect within 3 or 4 days of the injections, improving over time and potentially lasting up to 3 or 4 months before another treatment session is required.
- Inform the doctor of any medication you are on during the consultation phase, as you may need to stop some or all of it a week before your procedure.
- Avoid smoking and alcohol for at least 48 hours before the treatment.
- Cleanse your skin before heading to your appointment using a gentle cleanser and water, and avoid wearing makeup for as long as possible before the procedure.
If in doubt, call us ahead of your procedure or check the FAQ’s on this page. Try to be fully transparent at your consultation so that your doctor can create the best possible treatment plan for you.
You should also avoid rubbing or other pressure on the treatment areas.
Our doctors will provide full aftercare instructions as part of your treatment, but if you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to get in touch.
